Monday

Today has been a good day. Yesterday was a very peaceful Mother's Day. I talked to all my children by phone and they were all doing well.
Today we went to a thank you TEA at the Nursing Home for Volunteers. They do this every year and it is very nice, they serve some awesome snacks, etc. There were a lot more people there today than I have seen before. It was fun and nice. Bill went with me, he doesn't always go, so I was glad he went today.
We are still enjoying our Grace Bible Study here at home and this Sunday we are supposed to go the the Owen's home for Bible Study with Jerry Sanders. Jerry has a church in Selma and goes to Darlington, Fl on Sunday nights for Bible Study. This Sunday he and the congregation from Darlington are coming up so that we can meet with them. Is is quite a drive to Darlington, so I don't know if we will drive that far or not, but maybe sometime we will.
God is so good !!!

Scott and Dina's family

The picture on the right is of Scott, Dina, Taylor and Cody in April.
The picture on the left is Dina, Alisha (Dina's daughter) and Taylor at the airport when Alisha arrived in Virginia.

Wedding

This is a picture of the bride and groom from a couple of years ago!
Next Thursday my oldest Grandchild (25) will be married in Plant City, Fl.

I plan to attend and ride down with my youngest daughter and her family. It is a long way, but we are excited to get to go. He is the son of my oldest child, Scott. Scott and his new bride,(since 4-05-2009) will be there and I am glad to get to see them again.

Scott has two other children, and will be adopting Dina's daughter within the next few weeks and that will give him two girls and two boys!! Dina is Scott's new wife and she is a very special person and we are all very happy for them.

Just Posting

I am trying to get sleepy enough to go to sleep, so I will just post a note.

It has been a week this Sunday since we dropped out of the Baptist Denomination. We have had some flack, but mostly every one has been supportive of our decision. It is hard to explain to them the reason for this move, but we have complete peace with our decision. We welcome all prayers for our support during our transition.

There is not a Grace assembly in our area, so we are attending Shorewood Bible Church via the internet on Sunday and Wednesday, live. We also have websites for at least 3 more churches.

Next Sunday night we are supposed meet for Bible Study at the home of the only 2 people that I have found (via a facebook contact)in Elba, Al. Jerry Sanders has a church in Selma, Al and comes to Darlington, Fl on Sunday nights and the people we met go to his Bible Study in Fl. They have had Bible Study at their house a lot, Jerry and the people from the study in Darlington drive up to Elba for the study. They have agreed to come next Sunday Night so that we can attend and get our first experience of a Grace Bible Study in the real person. We are excited about it. We are 72 years old and do not go out much at night and it is a long drive to Darlington, so we appreciate their willingness to come just so we can attend.

I will post and let all know how it goes.

Thanks for your prayers and support.

Big Decision!!

Bill and I have finally decided it is time to move on away from the Baptist Church we attend. We have been studying a long time now about the Grace Movement and we feel that is the way to go. The Word of God has opened up so much for us and we really feel that Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth is the way God intended for us to understand the Bible. It has been wonderful and we are hoping to make contact with some more Grace Believers other than the one we met on Tuesday. It was a Blessed afternoon of sharing and testimony that we shared with them.

Pray for us in this transition.

In Christ

Bible Conference

This weekend we are attending Grace School of the Bible's Conference via the Internet! It is awesome. The preaching last night was very enlightening. If you are interested the website is: ShorewoodBibleChurch.org. The conference will run all day today and until 10 tonight (CST) and three times tomorrow. We plan to watch as much of it today as we can.

Next Tuesday we are to meet with the only Grace Believers we have been able to find out about in our hometown. There is not a Grace Church close enough for us to attend so we watch what we can on the Internet.

I wish everyone could learn about Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth. It will open up God's Word like you have never seen it before!!!

Root Canal

Well, when we returned from Virignia, I had to go get my root canal done. It took half a day and it hurt my pocketbook big time. The price has more than doubled in the last 7 years since my last one.
My tooth is pretty sore, but it is getting better. Next step, go back to my regular dentist and get a permanent filling, (more money!)
But that is life, so no more complaining.
Just glad I could pay for it. Can't afford to lose the tooth as it is one of three holding an eight unit bridge in!! LOL

This is Scott, Dina, Cody and Taylor on the Wedding Day!
They all seemed so happy!

Virginia Trip

We were in Virginia Last week to visit my son. He has just moved to Virginia. He is the one that lost a wife in February after she suffered a stroke.

He met this lovely lady two weeks after Wendy's death and they fell head over heels. They were married on Sunday April 5, in Fredericksburg. We spent a whole week with them and got to know her quite well. She is a beautiful person, inside and out. She has God in her heart and life and is going to help Scott to get to know God as well. Bill and I really learned to love her. She loves Scott, Cody and Taylor. She and Taylor get on famously. She has a 12 year old daughter who will be coming to live with them after school is out in June. God works in mysterious ways, and we all feel like this was His plan.

We pray for their union to be the best, in God's

eyes!

We solicite your prayers for them as well.

God Bless You All!!

Upcoming Trip

Saturday we will embark for our trip to Virginia to visit my son. We are riding with my sister and brother-in-law. It will be a very long drive. (at least 13+ hours) but with us taking turns driving, maybe it won't be so bad. My sister was taking their little dachund but he has a hurt back, so he will be staying with neighbors. We will be gone app. 10 days. Really looking forward to seeing all of the folks we have up there.
We were afraid we might have to cancel, I have had a toothache for over a week and it has been really bad until Tuesday, the dentist put me on an antibiotic hoping to settle it down ( it has). I have to have a root canal on the tooth and all the Endodontists were booked until the 14th and beyond, so the first thing I will do when we return will be, go to Dothan for a root canal (JOY!) Anyway, the pain is much better, so I will be able to enjoy my trip.
We had pictures made yesterday for a new Church Directory and they turned out so beautifully!! I had one pose made for the staff page. I am only a volunteer organist, and I did not know that I would be included on the page until I got to the Church for my picture. Will post some when we get them!!!
I will be checking my e-mails and blogs and facebook while in Virginia.
God Bless You!!!

Stormy Morning!!

We woke up to a STORM at about 5:15 am. It has rained, and wind blown and thunder and lightning!! The National Weather Channel said there were trees downed in Elba, Al, but we did not see any damage where we live, but we don't have trees in our yard either. It has calmed down pretty much for right now, but they say more will come tonight and tomorrow. We thank God for our safety and pray for all in the area to be safe. I pray for those who have damage and have lost everything. It is thundering heavy again, so more rain, probably.
I went to the dentist on Tuesday with a very sensitive tooth attached to a big bridge. He put a temporary filling (medicated) hoping to settle it down, but it has gotten much worse in the last 24 hours. I have to have a root canal in the tooth and all the endodontists are either booked up or are not open this week. I have an appointment on the 14th but if it keeps getting worse, something will have to give. I am biding my time until Monday, if I can stand it and then maybe get worked in. We are planning a trip to Virginia to visit my son on the 4th until the 13th. I really hope to get this toothache taken care of before we leave.

God Bless you ALL!

Just blogging

I have not blogged for some time. We have been kind of busy since the passing of my daughter-in-law on Feb. 20.
My son has had quite a lot of decisions to make and a lot of work to do to get moved to Virginia where he has a new job.
He and his daughter came by Wednesday on the way to Virginia with one small trailer loaded down with some of their things. The rest are on the way in a big trailer. He was getting his new home set up today for the rest of the furniture and things. Boy, it is a lot of work to change an entire household and life. He says he has started over now and is going to get on with making a new life for himself and his two children that are at home. We are all so grateful to God that he has a new job, he had been out of a job since last August. There are so many without work and our heart goes out to all those who are without a job right now. We have a neighbor, a truck driver, and he has been laid off for about a month now. I know that it is tough.
Jan called today and told me about Lori's little boy falling in the pool, and Lori had to dive in and save him. He is only 2 1/2 years old and does not swim yet. They were lucky to be at home and see him when he fell in the pool. I think they are going to put a fence around the pool with an alarm so that doesn't happen again. Praise the Lord he is okay. No harm or ill effects from it!! God is so Good!!!!
We got our grass (weeds) cut today. They were getting pretty big and the yard looks better, but it still got a lot of dead grass, but spring is almost here thank the LORD! I am ready for some steady warmer weather.
Maybe, I won't wait so long to blog from now on. We have still been spending 2 to 3 hours in Bible Class every day and boy, God is really opening up the Scriptures to us.

Trip finally underway

I am so glad that my son is finally on the road to his new home in Virginia. He has had such a trying 3 weeks since his wife suffered a fatal stroke and then passed away. He had to have two funerals, one in McAllen, Tx and then a graveside in Montogmery, Al. Then he had to fly back to McAllen to pack up his house, sell some stuff, load a moving van and trailer, now he is on his way to Houston, Tx for his daughter's surgery follow-up exam. Then on to Virginia where he had started a new job 3 weeks before his wife's stroke. The daughter is only 14 and it will be very hard on her to make new friends and start over without a mother to guide her. I feel for her Dad, trying to be Mom and Dad, but he is a strong person and I know he will make it.
I have had a hard time, thinking of all he is going through and the fact that I live in south Alabama and so far away. But I have tried to support him on the phone and e-mail.
They will be stopping by to see us on Wednesday on the way to Virginia.
I solicit your prayers for his strength, courage and guidance.
In Christ's Love

New Blog

Somehow I don't have my original blog, so here goes a new one.
I know I had written some about my daughter-in Law dying week before last. We buried her in Montgomery, Al. last Tuesday February 24, 2009.
She suffered a fatal stroke and passed away on Friday, February 20, 2009. It was very sad for us all, she was only 44 years old.
My son Scott has had two very long and hard weeks. They were in the process of moving to Virginia where he has a new job. Their house was on the market for a couple of weeks before she passed and it sold the Tuesday before she died. So he is on leave and packing up to move his furniture and his daughter to Virginia. Praise the Lord the house sold or he would have to worry with that.
The Lord takes care of us all!!
